Should I move to Austin, Texas?

I’m an 18 year old girl from Phoenix. I want a guy that is a vegetarian or vegan, an agnostic/atheist, intelligent, listens to indie rock music, has a mind of his own, is into technology, and is geeky or nerdy.

I remember being 18, and just like you, I was trying to fit in and figure out my place in this world. I can honestly tell you that simply moving somewhere else will never solve any of your problems or concerns.

Austin is a great place, but you are considering a move here for all of the wrong reasons.

So, no, you shouldn’t move to Austin if all you are looking for is a boyfriend who shares your current interests (which I guarantee will change many times over the next 4 years).

If you want to move here for education, the outdoors, the unique culture and community, the history, etc., then you may be ready, but until then, I would definitely hold off.
