Need to gain weight.?
Hey,
So, I’m 17 and a junior. I’m around 5’11″ or 6’0″ and weigh around 132, give or take. Aesthetically skinny. That makes my BMI 18.4. I eat relatively healthy. I was a vegan the last two years of my life, which held off a lot of protein intake. I run cross country and track and practice regularly. Since I was 10, I’ve been taking different kinds of Ritalin. Adderal for four years, Concerta for three more, now I’m on Vycance, along with depression meds. Ritalin obviously suppresses appetite, and I usually can’t eat much at school. At night though, I eat like crazy. As well as on weekends. Mainly fatty foods. Still, my weight never increases. Someone told me to take Creatine, because it will bulk me up from when I run. I want to put on weight, or just bulk up, so I can fit my skinny jeans. No, but really, how can I put on weight? Supplements? Certain things to eat? Help a brother out.
Thanks
Yes, your at the lowest end of “normal” BMI, but your a runner and vegan. Welcome to the club. Look around at your fellow runners. You know that you’re absolutely normal. Keep eating healthy, but you really should ask your doctor if you still need to be on all those medications. Don’t change it yourself, but just ask for a review based on your current psych symptoms. Stay away from the creatine. Don’t screw your body up with that fake body-building stuff. It may make you big, but it won’t make you healthy. Cheers!
