Carnivorous Vegans

Carnivorous pets?

I recently decided to go vegan instead of meat, due to animal cruelty, but my pet cat & dog eat meat sometimes.

I wish to convert them to vegan also, because it’s not right to have to buy or use abused animals just so they can eat either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make your dog or cat vegan?

Would love to hear about delicious pet food alternatives to meat. Thanks!

Dogs are completely fine on a vegan diet. The oldest dog in the world was a vegan dog(22 year old boarder collie in Australia).Dogs are actually omnivores, they can live off of meat or just veggies.Foods come supplemented with everything they need.

Cats are alittle more complicated, but they can live without meat also. They need an animo acid called “taurine” and they need vitamin a (retinol) which comes from animal sources.

They have vegan and vegetarian pet foods here:

I actually think it’s better to buy them vegan/vegetarian food, they put the worst meats in pet food, animals that aren’t approved for human consumption go straight into cat and dog food, also dogs and cats can get Mad Cow Disease,so you are protecting them from that.I also wouldn’t want my dogs eating hormone and antibiotic filled foods.
