Do Vegans Ride Horses

do vegans ride horses
Question about vegan lifestyle choices?

I know how to eat like a vegan, I even know vegans don’t go to zoos because of the exploitation of animals. But I do have some other questions.

1) Is riding a horse considered exploitation?
2) Can vegans wear pearls since they are made by fish and you kill an oyster when you get the pearl out?

Thanks!

1. Most vegans I think would consider riding a horse exploitation. Some vegans also dont agree with “owning” animals in the first place.
Horses dont enjoy being ridden. Hence the act of having to “break” them. So yes, ethical vegans would/should have a problem with this.
2. Vegans dont use anything that comes from an animal. And like you said, the oyster has to be killed to obtain the pearl. Animals should not be farmed, and killed for a fashion statement. Luckily, if a vegan liked the look of pearls, they could go out an get artificial ones.
