Foods Vegans Eat

What are the types of food that Vegans eat?

I going vegan and don’t know what to eat and what not to eat??Help

Hey, I went vegan recently. I don’t think it’s as hard as everyone makes out, and I don’t think you need to eat a bunch of weird foods, or even eat a lot of tofu if you don’t want to. I don’t eat tons of tofu or algae or anything. The foods a lot of people worry about most are sweets (like ice cream) – there are plenty of alternatives there. Dark chocolate is usually vegan, most packaged cookies (including oreos) are vegan, and sorbet is a good alternative to ice cream at a conventional ice cream parlor. There are less store-bought bakery options, but you can easily make those for yourself with soymilk and butter substitutes. Here are some simple meal plans:

Breakfast:
Cereal with soymilk/almondmilk/ricemilk
Fruit salad
Oatmeal with raisins
A fruit smoothie

Easy lunches:
Pasta salad
Salads (toss in some garbanzo beans or candied nuts for protein)
Hummus-cucumber sandwich with tomato, sprouts, and lettuce
Fruit salad
Thermos of soup
Hummus with sliced vegetables and pita

Lunch/dinner meals:
Wild rice pilaf served with salad
Spanish rice and beans with corn or tortillas
Pasta with marinara or sauteed veggies and olive oil
Vegetable stir-fry with brown rice
Spicy tofu with rice
Udon noodles with vegetables and soy sauce
Miso soup
Vegetable sushi
Falafel sandwich
Bean and rice burrito (grilled vegetables optional)
Lentil soup and fresh bread
Bean soups or stews
Vegetable soups
Vegetable lasagna
Butternut squash ravioli with sage and olive oil

Good snacks:
Raisins or other dried fruit
Nuts
Chips and salsa
Vegetables with dip
A piece of fruit

Good luck!
