Self Righteous Vegans

Is anybody else annoyed by VegetariansVegans that act self righteous?

Let me start off by saying that I am a vegetarian! so don’t say Im a “hater” or something ridiculous like that. The other day. I was at a restaurant for breakfast and a woman actually called a man out for ordering bacon and called him a “pig killer” and went on to tell him about how she was a vegan blah blah blah. I could not agree with you more.

I often find the questions on here pertaining to people being given a hard time for their dietary choice entertaining. I have been a vegan since I was weaned (spiritual belief). Never once have I been met with aggression, hostility or ridicule for my diet.

I attribute this to the fact that I have never told a person off for eating something which I would not.

I have encountered the militant veggies and veg*n in my day to day, and they do make us all look crazy!

Funny story – I was actually told off by a veg*n on a train once while I was eating a black bean burrito – which I can only assume looked like beef to her.

She told me to eat me “wretched dead animal elsewhere”, and gave me a condescending look. I can only assume she was being ironic because she was wearing leather Birkenstocks, A point which I didn’t point out to her for fear of fanning the crazy fire even more.

People are free to eat whatever they want. What we decide is best for use individually and what our conscience can handle is a very personal decision. People come to being vegetarian and veg*n in thier own way, one their own terms. Being called a murderer by a crazy person actually isn’t helping anybody.
