If a product says: ‘Suitable for vegetarians and vegans’, does this include the really strict vegans…?

As in, some vegans, not all, who don’t eat some brands of white sugar, because it’s bleached white with animal bones, or some commercial bread, which are made using a dough conditioner made of human hair or duck feathers? Also, some types of added calcium comes from animal bones, so those very strict vegans wouldn’t eat that either. So does that include suitable for those sort of very strict vegans?
Why are most of you being so rude? I put this in the Vegetarian and Vegan section to avoid shi.t heads like you, Steve-O. But to the few, kind, helpful people, thankyou.

That label is usually referring to the manufacturing equipment. If a company like Green and Blacks manufactures milk chocolate on the same equipment with vegan chocolate they’ll usually put two labels on their product. One will say ” this product was manufactured in a facility that processes dairy, soy, and tree nuts”. The other label will say this product is suitable for vegans and vegetarians”.

The company will have a line clearance process similar to what we have in pharmaceuticals to clean any residue of an animal by-product nature in order to make sure the next product is vegan. Allergies will probably determine whether a vegan or vegetarian is able to eat the product in question. There’s always a small chance that traces of a product you don’t want to eat may be in your chocolate bar because it’s so difficult to get machinery squeaky clean. If I were allergic to nuts I wouldn’t eat a product that says may contain traces of tree nuts. If a person isn’t allergic to anything on the label that may or may not be there in traces then they’ll probably just eat it anyway. Most vegans are not that legalistic and strict when it comes to traces of stuff.
