May I capture/snare wild rabbits to eat or breed to eat?
California Fish And Game Code Section 3003.1
“a) It is unlawful for any person to trap for the purposes of
recreation or commerce in fur any fur-bearing mammal or nongame
mammal with any body-gripping trap.”
Does a wire snaring of rabbits for food fall under recreation or commerce?
Would I get in trouble from some law for killing a domestic rabbit for food? (will PETA come and kill me)
Is there higher meat to fat ratio on a domestic or wild, and do domestic have a lot of fat?
Please don’t teach me the ways of a vegan, farming kills too!

growing up in cali yes it is illigal to trap any wild animal and keep it I dont know about hunting them i would call fish and game
my family had a commercial meat rabbitry there are no laws about raiseing and butchering rabbits for your own consumption but if you want to sell them already butched there are many laws you have to follow first of being inspected by the state and having everything you use *sink,counters ETC stainless steel, you can raise them and sell them alive to others to butcher theres not as many regulations on that. But your best bet is to go to your local AG co-op extintion for more info
