Vegans Defined

What defines a vegan from a Vegetarian,as i heard a vegetable came away from the cloth,please explain.?

1-Do vegans eat live product if not what makes an onion cry
2-Do vegetarians eat Vegatables and only vegetables?

Whose to say as some dude said plants are a form of life,so they are more of a mass murderer and cannibalistic than a Herbivore riding whilst chewing a cucuumber.OUCH lol
