Vegans Sleep Less

How can I wean my 11 mth old from the 6 am breastfeeding?
I am breastfeeding my 11 months old twice right now: he wakes up at 6 am and I nurse him and then I put him back in the crib and usually after half an hour or less he goes back to sleep for another 1 hour. And again I nurse him before I put him in the crib at night, 8 pm. I want to finish nursing him by around 13 months and I want to start dropping a feeding now. I’m thinking about the 6 am one, but how can I do it and for him to still go back to sleep or instead of waking up at 6 am to sleep another hour so that around 8 I can give him breakfast? We are VEGAN, so I don’t give him cow’s milk. Thanks for the hints.
You might find if you just drop the 6am feed, after a few days he wont bother waking up that early because theres nothing good to wake up for! It can become a habit particularly since he does go back to sleep again after. Or you could maybe start by compromising, say make him wait half an hour longer til 6.30 and just give him whatever he has for breakfast so after a few days or so he wakes at 7 for breakfast. Failing that, give him a bottle or beaker of whatever milk substitute you are planning to use when you stop feeding him. he could maybe hold it himself so you still get a rest.
Once mine were all on 3 meals a day i just cut out the early milk feed and combined it with their breakfast which worked just fine.
