Vegans Statistics

vegans statistics
How does being vegan help the economy?!! Help?

O.k. so I have tried finding information, specifically reliable statistics about being vegan compared to a non vegan lifestyle. All I can come up with is that beans and vegetables per pound cost less than the cheapest of meats, which would save people more money??! Yes, that may be lame, but that’s all I can find…I’m stuck because McDonalds makes a lot of money and gives back money for those sick children in the Ronald McDonald house. Basically, I need good statistics a.s.a.p, do any of you know good websites? Can’t find any…:( Thanks, answers are appreciated. :)

www.peta.com has many articles and statistics to back their claims up. just do a search from the homepage and you should get the results you are looking for. I found one right off the bat searching for ‘economy’.

http://www.goveg.com/diabetes.asp

it says:
“…More than 20 million Americans suffer from diabetes, and it often has devastating consequences, including blindness, birth defects, and increased risk of death from heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease. Diabetes is one of the most common causes of death in the U.S., and experts estimate that the disease costs the American economy $132 billion a year.1

While the impacts of diabetes are staggering, the great news is that diabetes can largely be prevented or controlled by lifestyle changes, namely a healthy plant-based diet and exercise…”
hope that will help you find what you are looking for.
