Vegans Swallow

Anyone know a good natural cure to stop my throat hurting when I swallow?

It must be vegan, & I don’t want to go the doctor’s.

Ok everyone: honey is *not* vegan. Trust me on this, I’m a beekeeper! So while it’s a fantastic remedy for sore throats, it won’t do for drewperhero.

Ok, back to the question.
Hot drinks are great: the most soothing thing for sore throats.
Tea is also mildly antiseptic, so I’d recommend tea — with lemon if you like. If you want it sweetened, maple syrup would be the most natural vegan option.

Another old remedy that my GP says is as good as most of the antiseptic throat lozenges is a two-hourly salt-water gargle. Half a teaspoon of salt stirred into half a pint of boiled water that’s been allowed to cool till just warm (therefore pretty much sterile). Don’t swallow the stuff, just tip your head back and gargle.
