What Are Vegetarians And Vegans

Calling all vegetarians/vegans! Help a starter out?

I just read Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. They convinced me to become a vegan. Before this book I didnt even realize what i was putting into my mouth! But, im not out of the house yet, and my mom doesnt like to make seperate meals for me. Any suggestions for meals for the whole family (with meat) where i could just pick it out and still enjoy the meatless part?

Ask your mother to please set a bit of food aside for you before she adds the meat to a dish. My mother does this for me with no problems.

Also, get used to either preparing your own meals or pop a vegetarian meal into the microwave. There are some great vegetarian frozen foods in every major supermarket chain.

Picking the meat out won’t work, because you’re still ingesting the animal’s fats, gluten, etc.

Don’t turn your decision into a big deal. The quieter you are about it, the quicker your mother and others will accept and respect it.
