Why Vegans Lose Weight

Did You Go Vegetarian/Vegan To Lose Weight?

I am just curious why, since just being veg*n doesn’t teach you how to eat properly or exercise regularly. I keep hearing about people who go veg “to lose weight” and I’m sure you’ve seen some of them post questions here asking how much weight they’ll lose if they go veg.

Is there any reason why people turn to veg*nism to lose weight instead of just a proper diet and exercise in general?

Not here to judge, but I am here to ask a lot of questions about it because it really doesn’t make sense to me at all. Thanks and namaste.
MISSIE: I deleted my previous question to write one that was more clear. I can’t expect you to understand that because you don’t even know what rules you’re breaking when you break them.

I do admit I was a bit naive when I first became a vegetarian. The majority of the change was for ethical reasons, but I also thought it was a healthier choice. For a time this worked, until I graduated High School and had no job or school to keep me busy, I gained 50 lbs.

Well, to much cheese, to many carbs. Hey, it’s still vegetarian.
So, I know better know.

I think for the most part vegetarianism looks like a healthy diet, but if you don’t eat right, you can still gain weight, still rot your teeth and still feel terrible. You have to know good foods vs bad.

I hope people understand that before getting any ideas that vegetarianism will automatically mean that they will lose weight, because it doesn’t guarantee that. No diet does, it all depends on the individual.
